Changing landscapes

This weekend we went for a meal in Stratford, which was a lovely thing to do but because of problems on the tube we decided to drive there and had a few problems finding the right route. The most stressful part was when we were very close to it and could see Westfield but not find the turnoff, and the strangest thing of all was that the Satnav ,which is only a few years out of date,  was telling us we were in the middle of a wasteland.

Because up until the Olympic site was built that was exactly what the area was - a wasteland and yet here we are a few years on with these amazing sports stadiums, malls, restaurants, sculptures, and a thriving dynamic part of London.

So I am pondering how quickly landscapes change, not just physically but in our own lives. It seems no time at all since the children were small and now we have our eldest at university. Nothing stands still, but yet ,thankfully, lots remain the same, the things which really matter don't ever change - like love and family and faith. Its just the landscape which shifts not the rock.
