Its a remarkable thing to be able to have tanned legs without ever exposing them to the sun.
I have been considering this as I apply my guilty little secret in the mornings in the shape of a miraculous little tube of cream. A shortcut that doesn't really involve any effort from me.
I know what you are thinking "Vanity vanity all is vanity " and it is, I have no excuse but if I am going to let my legs out for summer I am not going to allow two ghostly sticks to make an appearance.
A shortcut that involves little effort- even as I write it I know its too good to be true.
However, and there can't be many people who relate prayer to fake tan but here goes, shortcuts don't usually lead to any longterm benefit in my experience. If I don't apply the cream every day after a few days things go back to normal and I wonder if it isn't the same with prayer.
The days I'm too busy, I don't stop and make time, things go back to normal and very soon I'm running on empty, because whether I like it or not I can't do things under my own steam.
If I really want sun kissed legs I have to get out there and walk and be and spend time in the sun ( sensibly of course). If I really want to know God I have to spend time with him, allow him space in my day and let myself really be changed - and yes that takes time and effort but the real thing has to be better in the end...
