" In this advent season, we do not have to deny the darkness, but we know that the light is coming" I heard this as part of sermon yesterday and it has stayed with me. This morning I opened my Advent calendar ( yes I do have one and it a different tea everyday)as I was listening to the news and it didn't seem like this was a time for the heady celebrations of Christmas that the world is offering.
The season of Advent is so much more, not an attempt to be jolly in the face of pain or darkness , but an acknowledgement of that darkness and an assurance that the light is coming.
" Then the Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces" Isaiah 25 vs 8
